Torah Academy Science Fair

By: Rachel Shyken

On Lag B’Omer, Torah Academy of Jacksonville students had the opportunity to show off their science skills! The middle school boys observed a shechted chicken, the middle school girls made things foam, and the elementary school used some serious brain power.

The kids worked on their projects for weeks, developing hypotheses, doing research on the expected result and the actual result, conducting the experiments, and photographing the results. Then, they put their experiments into action!

Walking around the halls of TA you could sense the excitement as minds were opened and concepts were explored. Cars flew, ice cream was made, we learned about recycling and robots and coloring milk and decaying fruit. Our fingerprints were obtained and we learned how water is filtered. These kids chose their own projects and really saw them through to the end!

It amazing to see the hands on learning happening at Torah Academy and know that these projects will stay with the students for years to come.
