Chabad of Jacksonville Town Center Dedicates New Bikur Cholim House

Having a sick loved one who needs surgery or ongoing treatment is hard. As an observant Jew, it comes with even more challenges like supporting your loved one on Shabbat and keeping kosher. Chabad of Jacksonville Town Center has just dedicated a brand new Bikur Cholim House to serve the needs of Jewish patients receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic.

The new house provides comfort and care in a homey environment while adhering to the unique needs of the Jewish patient and family.

Spearheaded by Rabbi Shmuli Novack, the house boasts comfortable bedrooms, spacious living spaces, kosher kitchen and more all within a ten-minute walk of the Mayo Clinic. “When families come to Jacksonville for medical treatment, they often arrive carrying tremendous uncertainty and stress. Our goal is to ensure that no Jewish patient or family has to face that uncertainty alone. For years, we have supported families through hospital visits, kosher food, Shabbat and holiday resources, and ongoing care. This new home will build on those efforts, providing a welcoming place to stay and the comfort of knowing that a caring Jewish community is here to support them every step of the way,” shared Novack.
